Multi-Country Gulet cruise
Explore the best of Turkey and Greece on our eight-day Rhodes – Tilos – Symi – Bozburun Blue Cruise. Learn about the discovery of dwarf elephant bones in the caves of Tilos, wander through the picture-perfect streets of Symi and admire its 18th-century Monastery of Archangel Michael Panormitis. Then experience a slice of authentic Turkish culture in beautiful Bozburun before ending your journey exploring the UNESCO-listed towns of Rhodes.
- DAY 1
Transfer to your traditional gulet yacht in Rhodes harbour to meet your crew and mingle with your fellow travellers over dinner.
- DAY 2
After completing customs formalities, we'll cruise towards the island of Tilos, which features rocky mountains and dramatic coasts, as well as beautiful beaches lapped by crystal clear waters. Take time to visit the Charkadio Cave where dwarf elephant bones were discovered following their disappearance around 4,000 years ago. Tilos is also home to medieval castles built by the Knights of St John and a Byzantine monastery, as well as the deserted village Mikro Chorio that has been declared a cultural monument.
- DAY 3
This morning we'll cruise towards one of the most beautiful islands in Greece - Symi - which forms part of the Dodecanese Island group. The port is clustered with colourful neoclassical buildings that cling to the hillsides while the 18th-century Monastery of Archangel Michael Panormitis lies on the southwest coast. You'll have plenty of time to go swimming in the beautiful bays and explore the traditional stone houses of Gialós before dinner is served on board or in one of Symi's tempting tavernas.
- DAY 4
This morning we'll visit Panormitis on the southern coast of Symi, stopping for a swim and lunch in one of the beautiful bays en route. Then visit the Greek Orthodox pilgrimage site at the Monastery of the Archangel Michael Panormiti, which is still inhabited by monks.
- DAY 5
Today we'll continue cruising along the coast of Symi Island, with plenty of time to go swimming and soak up the majestic surrounds. Depending on the weather and sea conditions, we may continue towards one of the bays near Bozburun for the night.
- DAY 6
After completing customs formalities as we re-enter Turkey, we'll stop to explore one of the many beautiful inlets near Bozburun. This small fishing village is highly photogenic and was once the sponge-fishing capital of Turkey. It is now considered a major boat-building hub, with its port a great place to purchase Turkish delight and soak up the local culture. Have a traditional shave at one of the barbers or enjoy tea under the Eucalyptus trees before we overnight in a bay in the nearby surrounds.
- DAY 7
Today we'll return to the famous island of Rhodes, with a free day to explore one of its beautifully preserved medieval old towns and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Opt to tour the clifftop acropolis and whitewashed houses of Lindos, go hiking to the monastery at Filerimos or test your skills at rock climbing before dinner on board the yacht and overnight in Rhodes Harbour.
- DAY 8
Disembarkation in Rhodes
Enjoy a delicious Mediterranean breakfast on board before disembarking in Rhodes at 8am.
